Autonomous Cleaning in a Senior Living Community: A Pilot Assessment
The Organization
Details to be confirmed with client.
The Challenge
The facility's housekeeping team was spending a significant portion of each shift on repetitive corridor and common area floor cleaning — work that was consistent, time-consuming, and left less time for detailed and responsive tasks.
The Solution
A structured pilot of the C40 autonomous cleaning robot across selected corridors and common areas, integrated into the existing housekeeping schedule.
The Workflow
The C40 was mapped to the pilot areas and programmed to operate during low-traffic windows. Housekeeping staff were briefed on the robot's operation and involved in route planning. The robot operated on its programmed schedule, with staff monitoring performance and providing feedback throughout the pilot.
Implementation
Deployment included environment mapping, route programming, staff orientation, and a structured observation period. Adjustments were made to routes and timing based on operational feedback.
Results
Pilot results and validated data to be confirmed. Qualitative feedback from staff and management will be included when available.
What We Learned
Environment mapping and route planning require more time than anticipated in facilities with complex layouts. Staff involvement in route planning improved adoption. Timing of cleaning windows relative to resident activity patterns was a key operational variable.
Client Perspective
